Music Fest 2025 – Secondary A Grade
Antarktos is a musical exploration of the breathtaking, untamed beauty of Earth’s southernmost continent. Inspired by the awe-inspiring landscapes and diverse wildlife of Antarctica, this piece evokes the serenity and splendour of a place where nature reigns supreme. Listeners are invited to imagine scenes of majestic humpback whales gliding through icy waters, colonies of resilient penguins braving the harsh environment, and the historic tall ships that once navigated these treacherous seas. Driven by fierce westerly winds, Antarktos captures the spirit of adventure and discovery that has long defined this extraordinary region.
Performed by University of Georgia Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr Nicholas Enrico Williams
