Dance of the Ancient Spirits draws inspiration from tales of ancient mysteries and forbidden discoveries. The work imagines an archaeologist’s perilous encounter deep within a forgotten temple. After years of fruitless searching for the tomb of a merciless queen, the weary explorer accidentally opens a casket containing the spirit of a long-dead warrior, eternally sworn to protect the queen. From the darkness, ghostly guardians rise and swirl in a furious dance, defending their sacred chamber. The music traces the archaeologist’s frantic escape through echoing corridors as the spirits close in, until the temple doors finally slam shut. Silence returns, and the spirits resume their eternal watch—guarding their queen for all time.
