Schilke Cornets
Schilke Model XA1 Bb Cornet
English Short Model with Shepherds Crook
Bore: ML -.460" (11.68 mm)
Bell: L – 5.00" (127.00 mm) Copper Bell with #1 taper
In the tradition of the British Brass Band, the XA1 has a vintage cornet design with a tighter wrap that permits the player a dark, rich and round sound. The XA1 provides a wonderful response at lower dynamic levels with a smooth even quality in color and intonation in all registers. Additionally, the player will find articulation clarity from high to low and good projection at the highest volume. The XA7 offers the same bell as the XA1 but built with a medium bore. This allows the instrument to blow with slightly more resistance than the XA1.
Schilke Model A2C C Cornet
Bore: ML -.460" (11.68 mm)
Bell: ML – 5.00" (127.00 mm) Yellow Brass Bell with #2 taper
The A2C is considered by many to be the finest cornet in the key of “C” built in the world. The quick response inherent in the Schilke instrument design affords the player the flexibility and diversity required when performing the cornet or solo parts in orchestral or chamber literature.
Schilke Soprano Eb Cornet
Model Eb Soprano Cornet
Bore: M -.450" (11.42 mm)
Bell: M - 4.50" (114.30 mm) Yellow Brass Bell with #4 taper.
Our Eb cornet is the “reference standard” for soprano cornets in the Brass band tradition due to its uniformity in intonation, and sound color. The Schilke Eb cornet allows the player a greater sense of security and ease with superior projection when performing the virtuosic demands of the soprano cornet chair in the Brass band.
