Russell Gray & Yamaha Neo Cornet Release!

This is an excellent opportunity for teachers and students to come along to this free event being hosted jointly by Yamaha Australia, The Queensland Conservatorium and Brass Music Specialists.

The Conservatorium’s Trumpet and Trombone Ensembles will be performing at 1pm for about 50 minutes and this will be followed with a recital/presentation by Russell Gray, showcasing the newly released Neo Cornet.

These instruments were shown for the very first time earlier this year in Germany by Yamaha Europe, and again in Perth during the recent Easter weekend at the Australian National Band Championships. Next Wednesday’s presentation is only the third ever.

These instruments are pre-production prototypes with general production and availability from June/July this year.

To round off the year, BoB – Best of Brass in collaboration with international percussion ensemble Sonamus Percussion present a variety of works in an enthralling combination of lyrical and percussive soundscapes. Mainly concentrating on works from the 20th century, this concert includes both popular favourites as well as works on the cutting edge of their time.
